Prospect Retired Members’ AGM
Mary Sherwood will be a speaker at Prospect Retired Members’ AGM. This is taking place in Plymouth on 14th November 2018 from 1400 – 1600, with the speaker at 1500.
Mary is coming to give you an insight into her life after retirement from the Met Office in 2016. For Mary it has been every bit as busy as her life before retirement. Mary retired to develop 4 Dementia Carers, which she created to raise awareness of and support for dementia carers. A School for Social Entrepreneurs Fellow, her clients include the British Library and Ferrovial Agroman, a Heathrow Construction company.
Mary is also a Patient Participation Group representative for her GP surgery and is on the committee for the Teignbridge Dementia Action Alliance. To support this she has been facilitating a Dementia Carer Network in Newton Abbot since April 2017.
Family, especially grandchildren, are an added pleasure. Being able to help out when needed has been a real bonus. Very hands on with DIY and gardening, there is always something which needs doing, so never without a project of some description in progress.
For relaxation there is learning to play the cello, something to stretch the brain cells.
