Event description

Who is this Dementia Carer Network for?

This Dementia Carer Network is for dementia carers living in the  Newton Abbot area. Have you  been impacted by someone you know with dementia? It doesn’t matter whether this was in the past or happening to you now. The person’s dementia does not have to be  diagnosed.

An  opportunity to share your experiences with other dementia carers. Get some tips and learn more about dementia and dementia care.

Your facilitator

Mary Sherwood will be facilitating the monthly sessions which will be interactive and informative. Bring your issues so that together we can find answers and understanding.

Mary ran a successful two-year Dementia Carer Friendly Met Office pilot. She is facilitating a Dementia Carer Network at Teignbridge District Council and is on the committee to make Newton Abbot Dementia Friendly. This project is part of her commitment to supporting dementia carers in the locality.

Informal approach

We look forward to seeing you – no connection too small. If you think it might help you come along and give it a try. Tea and coffee available. Feel free to bring your packed lunch.

How to find us

The hall is accessed via the passageway beside the church. On street parking is pay and display. Book your place now.

Do you work and care?

If you are a working dementia carer your organisation might like to become a Dementia Carer Friendly Workplace or sponsor you to attend one of Mary’s Dementia Carer Away Days.
