Event description
This meeting, supporting people impacted by a person’s dementia, takes place on the last Thursday of the month. Any connection is relevant and the person does not have to be diagnosed. It is a safe place to share experiences with people who are going through, or have gone through similar. We focus on your issues primarily, followed by information on a particular topic which will help you or the person you care (or cared) for.
We start with refreshments including home-made cake. Please bring a mug.
Attendees have reported arriving feeling stressed, tired and ill. By the time they left they felt calm, listened to and supported. Carers have made new friends and some have gone on to become carer buddies.

We have been offered a free meeting room for our Dementia Carer Network Group by Newtons Place and Asda. Newtons Place has reserved us dates for 2022. They want to be a dementia friendly venue and they are committed to supporting local community projects.
Note: The room Newtons Place is offering us takes 10, so please confirm you are coming. If there will be more than 10 of us, we will get a larger room. This would be a very positive outcome!

Parking: Use the car park next door . Newfoundland Way car park, access via Bakers Hill, Pay and display, £2.50 for 1-2 hours, pay by card or RINGO.
Or Use Asda car park: Pay and display, £2 for 2 hours, can reclaim if you spend £10 in store.
