Event description

We always start with tea/coffee and cake. Please bring a mug.

This free session is for dementia carers only – anyone impacted by a person’s dementia, whether now or in the past.

We provide support for unpaid dementia carers through understanding, knowledge and practical tips.  Sharing your issues with others who understand is very powerful and reduces isolation.. Learn ways to reduce your own risk of dementia. By improving your own health and well-being you will feel less stressed and anxious.

Dementia carers find themselves dealing with situations which they could neither have predicted nor prevented. It helps to reduce the stress of these if you have already sorted the predictable. Understanding how to apply for Attendance Allowance, ensuring you have Lasting Power of Attorney, planning the funeral in advance, choosing the right Care Home. Just a few examples of things which can seem so difficult to negotiate alone. We can make it easier for you.

If you would like to join our group, please contact us to register. A friendly chat with Mary before the meeting will help us to understand your specific situation and needs. It is really helpful for us to know who is attending.

Please feel welcome to bring other relatives or friends who are impacted by the person’s dementia. Even members of the same family can be affected very differently.

We also run a monthly online meeting on Zoom. Please contact us to register your interest so that we can provide you with the relevant joining details.
