4 Dementia Carers will be very pleased to see you at this event. We are delivering a Dementia Friends session from 1030 to 1130, providing a speaker from 1150 to 1210 and delivering a taster Dementia Carer Workshop from 1400 – 1500. Our stand will be available for you to come and speak to us throughout the day.
Become a Dementia Friend 1030 – 1130
Would you like to know a bit more about dementia? Learn the small ways that we can all help people to live better with the disease. This is an interactive session with no technology! Comments in the past have been that it was the best use of an hour of the person’s time.
4 Dementia Carers supports the Newton Abbot and Teignbridge Dementia Action Alliance. Our initial aim is to deliver as many Dementia Friends sessions in the area as possible. We are trying to make our community a dementia friendly one, to support people living with dementia and their family/friends/carers.
Please come along and join us if you have not already been to a Dementia Friends session. The things you learn will come in useful one day.
Dementia Carer Support 1150
Why is this needed? Who are these dementia carers and why don’t we know who they all are in our workplaces and communities? What help works best for them and what are the consequences if we do not support them?
24.6 million people in the UK know a family member or close friend living with dementia. That is 38% of the population!

Dementia Carer Taster Workshop 1400 – 1500
This is a taster session for anyone who has been or is being impacted by a person living with dementia. Interactive and informative. A chance to share with others who understand your issues. Contact us if you would like to book your place.
We run a free Dementia Carer Network group in Newton Abbot on the first Thursday of every month. St Joseph’s Church Hall, Queen Street Newton Abbot from 1400 -1530. Tea/coffee and cake! If you are able to attend you will be very welcome. See our Events page for up to date information.
We also run Dementia Carer Day Workshops for companies. Contact us if you would like to find out how we could tailor a session for your workplace.
Our stand
We welcome you to come and speak to us at our stand. We want to know about your issues and experiences. Please be advised that our stand may be unattended during our workshop sessions.
